2012

Founded in California

Launched in Altadena, CA, placing contractor bonds and specialty commercial insurance for brokers.
Greenwood started as a wholesale agency built to help retail agents and brokers place commercial risks quickly, with responsive in-house underwriting from day one.
2015

Surety Program

Surety program scaled to roughly 13% of the California contractors market.
Specialized underwriting and deep carrier relationships made Greenwood a go-to surety and commercial insurance market for brokers.
2016

Program Expansion

Expanded commercial insurance programs and carrier partnerships across new lines.
Greenwood broadened its appetite and added markets, giving brokers more commercial insurance programs and more competitive options to place.
2022

Richard Badoux Named President

Richard Badoux named President to lead the MGA's next phase of growth.
New leadership focused Greenwood on technology investment, expanded carrier partnerships, and national commercial insurance market access for brokers.
2023

G-Tec Launch

Launched the G-Tec commercial insurance rating platform for faster quoting.
G-Tec brought digital submissions and same-day quoting online, cutting broker turnaround from days to hours.

Contract-Bind & Brokerage Facilities

Established Contract-Bind and brokerage facilities to expand underwriting capacity.
